Roundtable: Technology-facilitated gender-based violence and its impact

Join in the discussion on Technology-facilitated gender-based violence and its impact – taking place on Thursday, 27 November 2025, 12:00 to 14:30, Room LASS B18, Law & Social Sciences building, University Park, University of Nottingham.

Misogynistic, anti-feminist and sexist online speech, along with threats of violence against women in social media, games and virtual reality spaces, impact women’s participation in digital online spheres. but also have broader implications for the wellbeing of all genders.

This roundtable discussion is being held as part of the “Gendernet” project and organised by Horizon Digital Economy Research, in collaboration with the Law and Tech Research Centre, School of Law, University of Nottingham

During the session, academics and representatives from NGO’s will present their research and discuss the impacts of technology-facilitated gender-based violence, along with key findings emerging from the “Gendernet” project.
