Horizon Centre for Doctoral Training

The Horizon Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) is based at The University of Nottingham and is supported by a £9.3 million investment from the UKRI Digital Economy Theme,  The University of Nottingham and over 30 industry partners.

Each year Horizon recruits 10-20 students on to our PhD programme from a wide range of backgrounds including positioning, computer science, engineering, business, geography, psychology, HCI and other arts, science and social science disciplines.

Students spend 4 years experiencing an innovative PhD programme that combines a PhD research project with training in interdisciplinary research and innovation skills.

In collaboration with industry, other organisations and international partners, our students will establish the technologies, applications and principles to enable citizens to construct their digital identities from personal data and effectively manage them to derive economic and social value.

Visit the Horizon CDT website for information on the research areas, training programme, how to apply, and how to collaborate with us.
