Since our last blog, we have been working on testing new cobot features: simultaneous localization and mapping, parts recognition, voice/phrase response library, along with interface design for the operator. An important factor has been to understand the ‘levels of autonomy’ required, for example, how much to build into the system versus what to provide to the operator. WoZ development, prototyping both the scenario and joint task have taken longer than expected, but they have allowed us to get to the stage where we can now run our experiment.
