The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its public engagement fellowships. The aim of this scheme is to contribute to the STFC’s public engagement programme by investing in good communicators with research credibility. Fellowships support those with significant research experience who have a demonstrated track record in outreach or communications work. Fellowships will buy time for additional or extended communication activities that will have a national or regional impact. Proposals aimed solely at writing a popular science book will not be supported.
STFC-funded researchers and users of STFC facilities are eligible to apply. Applicants must be based at an approved research organisation.
Fellowships should take up at least 20 per cent of the fellow’s time and last for up to three years. There are no restrictions on start date. Funding is worth a maximum of £125,000 at 100 per cent of full economic costs, of which STFC will provide 80 per cent.
